What you need to know
Minimum 12 month commitment
Complete new volunteer training
Visit child(ren) once per month (An average of 15 hrs time commitment per month)
Be at least 21 years old
Have access to a vehicle
Complete criminal background checks
No previous experience or education required. All training and support provided.
Steps to becoming a CASA Advocate
Step one: Submit an Application
Fill out an application online here. Once you have submitted the application a member of our team will reach out to you in 3-5 days. The application process includes a short personal interview as well as criminal background checks.
Step two: Attend Pre-Service Training
Once your application has been accepted you will attend one of our new volunteer trainings. Pre-Service trainings are 5 weeks long using the Google Classroom platform and a self-guided curriculum. You will meet each week on Google Chat with the trainer to go over what you have learned and learn about more information about how it fits in our local program. Once you have completed one of the following trainings you will observe court and be sworn in by the judge to become a CASA Advocate.
